Question Jazz Bass Plus Pick Up Replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, early 90's jazz bass plus. with the kubricki and lace sensors.

I am looking for info from anyone who has replaced pick ups in this bass without modifying the body.

I am looking for a more traditional Jbass sound and would like to rip all of the electronics and pick ups out and start over.

Can anyone tell me what they put in, how they fit, and how you liked the results?

I play your basic rock with a hair of jazz or slapping ever so often. It is my only Jazz, so I think I would like to have something close to a 60's or 70's sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jim

I've had a couple of these and actually still have one that has been modified quite a bit. I replaced the sensors with Aero pickups at one point (I'm all about Villex now) and they definitely gave it a much more typical J bass tone.

I like Fender vintage single -coil. Or S.D. antiquity. Those 2 have the best "Fendery" sound IMO..
