Jazz Bass Pots

Sign in to disble this ad
Just wondering if a lefty Jazz Bass is going to require the same mod as my Strat? ie: swapping poles on the pots for linearity. This topic has been beat to death on guitar forums. But I've never seen mention of it regarding the Basses.

Maybe someone has some words o' wisdom in this regard......

If you use audio/log taper pots, you'd have to get the reverse taper ones, otherwise they will not work right. If you use linear taper then you can just swap the poles.

Also, anything that applies to guitars applies to basses as well, at least as far a circuitry is concerned.

I like mine to rotate the same direction as righties since I associate clockwise with up and counter-clockwise as down.
