| If you use audio/log taper pots, you'd have to get the reverse taper ones, otherwise they will not work right. If you use linear taper then you can just swap the poles.
Also, anything that applies to guitars applies to basses as well, at least as far a circuitry is concerned.
I like mine to rotate the same direction as righties since I associate clockwise with up and counter-clockwise as down.
