Hi just bought a new bassline active preamp to go with my passive bassline pickups in a jazz i have I know it can be done so im gonna go for it but i have a question.the booklet says if you use it with passive pups to make sure you use a STEREO OUTPUT JAck so that your battery doesent drain. How can I tell if its stereo?are jacks on normal passive basses mono?and has anyone done this type of thing before? Thanks alot

here is a stereo output jack. instead of using two signals (stereo) and a single ground, you use one of the signal contacts for the battery ground. the mono plug on your cable will ground out the second signal contact, allowing the pre to be powered up by the battery, and there you go. when you unplug your bass, the ground to the battery is disconnected, so the pre stops drawing current.
