Exclamation JUST INSTALLED KHALER TREM BAR. MESSED UP GROUNDING WIRES! PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey everyone,

So I took the chance and installed a Khaler Trem system on my Ibanez BTB 670. Incase you didn't know, each saddle is seperate from the others. So they are all grounded seperatly.
Upon trying to ground them to the new bridge (single peice) I discovered that my pickups weren't working.

They're active, I've changed the batteries.
I tried soldering the wires to 2 slips of brass stock (paper thin) under each side of the mounting plate. The brass isn't soldered on, it's just being held to the body by the mounting plate.

I'm in a band and this is my main bass, so this is urgent!
I would greatly appreciate any help any one it willing to offer!

Cheers,
-bassjitsu17

Hi.

First of all, welcome to TalkBass.

Don't know what type of Kahler tremolo You have, but all the ones I've worked with has had only single grounding wire.

Sounds like You have messed up the pickup wiring as well, as the bridge ground has nothing to do with the pickup circuit. Most of the active pickups don't even require grounding the bridge.

I suggest that You check the pickup wiring first, without the bridge ground, and try to get that working. If there's interference, then install the ground wire to the bridge.

Regards
Sam
