Just installed Seymour-Duncan QPB-3 and QJB-3's on my Ibanez...

So, like the title says, I have the SD quarter pound pickups in my Ibanez SR600. I got the P-bass one put in professionally, but I installed the j-bass one myself the other day. After plugging it back in, I noticed that the j-bass pup was notably quieter than the p-bass one, so I raised the j-bass one up a bit, re-did all my soldering, and it's definitely closer to a similar volume level now, but both my roommate and I can still hear a pretty clear difference.

Any ideas as to why this would be happening? I mean, it's not like I could wire something incorrectly (there's only those 2 wires!), and I'm pretty sure all my soldering is decent. Is this volume difference something I can fix, or something I should be worried about? I have shows coming up real soon, so ANY help you pickup gurus can give me is MUCH appreciated!

*EDIT*

I just realized the pickups are actually the SPB-3 and SJB-3...sorry for the mis-spelling in the title!

The QP pickup is loud, that simple. I had one for a while and it reminded of a car that wants to fly at the slightest touch of the gas. I found it annoying and tried something else. It was probably too close to the strings. Maybe you should lower the P pickup to balance them a bit.

I'm using a SD SPB-1 now and like it the most of those I've tried.

Well, screw the P pickup a little deeper. I think it's ok that the P pickup sounds louder. Isn't it?

I think so too, since I normally blend more of the P sound in anyway. I guess I could try screwing it down a bit more.

Thanks for the help guys, any other opinions welcome!

I've found the same thing with the P pickup too, but being that I play mostly metal with that bass, I never really minded it being loud and out of control. :P
