Bill Lawrence J-45 Pickups for my Aria Pro II

Been wanting to upgrade this bass for many years.
Has a wicked neck, and after 15 years of use, it's worked in perfectly the way I like it.

Anyone have J45s...how do you like em...

Becky there, is an absolute sweety, so very warm and friendly, as well as knowledgable and helpfull.

I plan to record, before and after tracks...stay tuned...about 3-4 weeks

I have one of those in my Carvin LB75 fretless, have tried a fair number of other p'ups. Great pickups with a good balance of frequency content so that by hand technique and EQ one can dial in just about any tone. I use it mostly passively, but sometimes also with the onboard preamp.

nice pickup. Very detailed, punchy, clear and quiet. I'm definately a fan.

One thing you want to try with BL's pickups is varying the tone cap. He sends some suggestions along and it's something you want to play with a bit. You can really change the character of what happens when you roll the tone down a bit with a change.

The other Lawrence pup's to get excited about are the P-46. The combination of P-46 and J-45 bridge is one of the best balanced PJ set's out there IMO.

I have a Tele (guitar) loaded with an L-290T at the bridge. It's BL's take on a P-9 in a Telecaster form factor. That one has an L-280 Strat pickup at the neck. A very nice combination. My 335 (clone, D'Agostino not Eliphone...) has XL-500 humbuckers which are amazing. They go from Reggae Strat skank to smokey Green/Montgomery/Benson with about a half turn of the tone pot. Those were the first Lawrences I ever experienced. As you can probably sense I was impressed.

What is Becky quoting for lead time on J45's these days ?
