Hey guys I just scored a Peavey Grind 6 string and am very
happy with the sound. But I think I want to put some EMG's
and the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp to make it spank a Ken Smith.
Paid $299 for it, and it kills like is!!!

How serious are you about getting close to a Smith sound? Because you can buy Smith pres and pickups too: http://www.kensmithbasses.com/access...arts_index.htm

I thought about that but I feel that b/c of the quality of the Ken Smith's and electronics that one should just get a Ken Smith bass. The tone of this bass is
so broad with the existing electronics that I'm almost thinking about leaving it
as is. All it really needs is a good setup and strings. I'm very excited aout this
bass. Thanks!!
