If it is, it saved a ton of money over buying everything seperately from Allparts. Can anybody tell?

CTS pots, Orange Drop cap, Switchcraft jack, looks to be of as good a quality as any. If all you wanna do is fix up one bass, go for it.

I prefer to buy in bulk on eBay for those parts, and it ends up being cheaper than that, but there's nothing wrong with that kit.

I got 6 CTS 250K pots for $6, two caps for ~$2, and 4 jacks for ~$2. Search eBay before you buy, you may find a better deal accidentally.

Thank for the input! I'm not a big fan of the 'bay, but I'll take a peek.

Stupid question, but for an SX Jazz bass, should I get the split shaft or standard kit?

EDIT: Never mind, just bought the standard wiring kit and some vintage set screw jazz knobs from guitarpartsresource.

I've done business with GPR before. I would definitely buy from them again. I can personally vouch for CTS pots and Sprague Orange Drop caps. They were a definite improvement over the stock stuff in my P and my J.

I've got the same kit in a couple of my basses.

While I've got the attention of the electronics modders....

Am I going to have to worry about the tone knob after I install this thing? There's another thread in this subforum talking about how 250k pots and a .47 cap lead to no control with the tone knob. Is this something I should be worried about?

Wire it as a standard jazz bass and there will be no problems...

The Acme orange drops caps don't say "Sprague" on them so they probably aren't the real deal although they might sound the same

This is the kit I picked up, the guitarpartsresource one. I think it says "Sprague".
