so i thought id post my experience with duncan over some antiquities i just bought. i remembered another member posting that his antiquity 2's were microphonic and was wondering if that was normal or not.

well, i recently bought some antiquity 1 jazz bass pickups off of ebay that were brand new and never installed but werent from a dealer. i installed them and sure enough, theyre microphonic. like really bad

bridge pickup squeals if i put my hand over it and if i get anywhere near my amp its feedback city. i emailed them and got an email back saying to call in about it. after describing the problem they exchange them even though i got them off of ebay and werent from a dealer (which i was honest about). if that wasnt good enough, the next morning the replacements were at my house (i only live an hour away). i hadnt even got a chance to go to the post office and send the old ones in yet.

by far the best service ive had with a bass product. and if you get some antiquities that are microphonic, call up about it. they'll take care of you!

yup, no feeding back or squealing. just great tone. i cant say they'll be the last set of pickups in that bass (75 ri), but theyre definitely the most vintage sounding "vintage" j pickup ive used so far. theyd sound darn near perfect in a mid 60's jazz that needed pickups. the pickups in my original 62 dont quite have as much bottom and are a bit more mellow and thinner. highs are a touch airy'er as well. the 65 and 66 jazz basses i had had pickups that sounded more like these.

real good stuff!

Hi narud

without hijacking the OP, what was the email that you contacted SD? I have tried several times to contact them over making me a discontinued SD guitar model and never I heard back (last time was like 2-3yrs back)

Probably best to contact the Custom Shop directly by phone for something like this. The custom shop is a little hard to get through to but keep trying. Once you get a hold of them they will take care of you.
