L2000/Aguilar wiring help

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,

Finally had enough of the stock pre-amp in my L2000 trib. Have already done the inner sc/parallel/outer sc mod which I love, and want to expand on that by changing the preamp to an Aguilar obp-2.

I plan on shielding all cavities with copper foil, and then connect them together. I have attached the wiring diagram I propose to use. Does it look sound? I do have a couple of questions though: Do the pots get grounded via the shielding foil, or should they not touch it? Also, should the jack be clear from touching the shielding?

I just installed a Aguilar OBP-3 and I made sure to connect all of the pot housings to the ground and it is working perfectly with no humming.
They dont show it in the schematics but if you look you should see that the black wire on the left terminal of the volume pot has a jumper to the volume housing,I just made a jumper from that to each of my new post and soldered it to the back of the housing.
My Confiquration was different than any of the suggested schematics so I paid close attention to how I removed the old one and just installed the Aguilar in the same way.
I have 1 pickup with no blend knob obviously.
