Lace Sensors or EMGs

Sign in to disble this ad
I got a PJ with original Lace Sensors on.

Lately, I've been digging Guy Pratt's sound (Floyd, Gilmour, Sophie Ellis Bextor). He uses EMGs on his 64 Jazz.

I'm playing mostly urban pop, r&b.

How do you fell about changing from the Laces to EMGs?

I remember when the Fenders where hanging on the wall new with the lace pickups in them. It was around the time the PJ90, Pbass lite, Jazz plus basses came out.
I never really cared much for those pickups, but I can say this "the EMG's in my Spector basses" sound friggin great!

They do sound good.

Actually, it's my first Fender bass, so I don't have much to compare.

People seems to love the tone I'm getting and the output is similar to my Stingray in flat mode.

Didn't the lace pickups come in different flavors? I know they where being billed as quite or silent, maybe it was noisless.
