Lace Ultra Slim Acoustic pickup-brief review

Sign in to disble this ad
Just bought this pickup. This all started with this thread: Magnetic pickup suggestions for my Tacoma ABG as I was searching for a pickup for my Tacoma ABG that would fit between the strings and the body as the soundhole is not under the strings. I also have wanted to combine mag with piezo for more sound variation.

This is an amazing little pickup. Not killer, but darn good. It is very thin and small. It comes with sticky tape on the back which I have not used as I am experimenting with all of my piezo basses. The amazing thing about this pup is the versatility of locations and applications.

This current model was designed for guitar so it mostly works for four string basses. I was also able to use it on two of my five string basses near the neck.

What is so cool is that you can move it to any location so you can get all of the different tonal variations.

I haven't spent alot of time with it yet.

Here is a pic of it taped to my Tacoma ABG for testing. Here are links to Lace and also MF where they have a 3 picture angle feature.

The big news is that they are coming out with a BASS model soon. At first it was a few weeks off but when I talked to them a few days ago it was months. I am in contact with one of the guys there who will let me know when the bass model is coming out and I will review that model then.
