Lakland 44-01 pickups replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Thinking of changing the pickups on my 44-01 Lakland bass.

Any thoughts on what I can install as a replacement instead of the Bartolini MK-1 ???

Let me know. I am curious !

I have the US Bart MKs in mine. They are the only ones that fit that I know of. A lot of people use Nordstrands in their 55-01s, but the 4 string versions don't fit the 44-01. Actually, they will fit, but they are smaller so there would be a gap around them.

For what it's worth, I like the MKs a lot better than the MK1s. Smoother, not as harsh in the highs and high mids.

Thanks for the reply showdown.

I measured the 44-01 pickups space and you are right, that would leave a gap that I don't want to see. I think I will stick with the present Bart.

Thanks !

See if some EMG 35's will work.

EMG 35s are 3.5" x 1.5" and MK1s are 4.25" x 1.33".
