Lakland jack, 3 cables?

Sign in to disble this ad
So my 4-94 `s jack is up for a change.

I unscrew the screw and took it out, but there are 3 cables going into the jac... not 2. This is weird, since the bass is not stereo, nor balanced.....

Can someone help me out in this issue?

thanks!

The + signal from each of the (2) pickup is going to the jack and only (1) ground is needed. Just copy it.

The jack is also functioning as a switch to turn on your preamp. When you plug in your instrument cord, it is turning the preamp on. The previous poster is giving you good advice. You need a tip/ring/sleeve jack to replace the one that is already there. Either draw a diagram or take a picture to insure that you get the wires connected to the new jack properly and you'll be back in business.
