Les Paul (guitar) Wiring - Quick Question

My guitarist asked me to fix the loose connection in his Les Paul. I exposed the jack and only the live/white wire is still attached. There are two other wires coming from the sheathing that are not connected. A blue wire and a bare wire. My assumption is that one is ground and the other is from the bridge but I'm not sure. It's an older Deluxe, not sure of the year.

Any ideas?

The link is not helpful in this case.

Is this a "stereo" jack, or a regular mono one?

I would suggest tracing down the wires to what they connect to in the control cavity.

Why don't you just google les paul wiring, or go to stewmac.com, they will have it.

Sounds like they both should be soldered to the ground tab.

Best I can tell it's a superfluous wire because it ends somewhere in the sheathing before it reaches the pots.

Do you have a pic of the cavity & the wires in question? Otherwise, maybe this will help:
