Talking Lindy Fralin Split Jazz Question?

So I finally rounded up the Dough for my Tonal upgrade on my 96 Dlx Jazz bass.
Was looking at some new Fralin Split Jazz set on EBay.
First question is ,can I use any of the Lindy Fralin Jazz sets on my Dlx active bass, or is there sets designated for active and passive?
Also the set I'm looking at are new for $240 and are split jazz ,but they say "10% bridge" what does this mean, can I use these?

All of Fralin's pickups are passive and you can use any passive pickup with a preamp if you want. The 10% means that the bridge pickup is overwound by 10% so it will be a little hotter than standard.

The Fender preamp of that era is bothersome because it doesn't have an active/passive switch, the preamp circuitboard is mounted to the volume pot, and as preamps go, it has a definite voicing that was designed to compliment their noiseless pickups. It may or may not be the best preamp for those Fralins. In fact, when I put the Fralins in my Dlx Jazz, I took out the preamp and wired the bass passive. They sounded so good I left it that way!

the Fralins sound really good with the Bartolini preamps and have the luxury of an active passive switch in the push/pull volume pot.

Under the same topic, questions about these pickups...

I think they come wired in series, has anybody tried a series parallel switch on the pickup or think it would be worth it?

Please respond with impressions and opinions

I don't believe the Fralins are 4-wire pickups so you can't change the series/parallel configuration of each pickup. You can still combine the two pickups in series or parallel like you would with any two pickups. Lots of folks here like that option although I personally don't have use for it.
