Hi. My original thread was started to seek some advice on making these pickups. I have gone ahead and started making them, and wanted to create a more appropriately titled (this) thread in case anybody is only interested in watching my progress. Here it is:

Wow this rapidly expanded my dream bass search of a P/MM. I'm curious say I wanted them overwound a bit so that they sounded darker or underwound it or whatever it is. Is there anyway I could make a Jazz pup sound like a slightly overwound P pup?

Like an over wound P pickup, or like a P?

Ps are overwound compared to Js.

But yeah, that's real easy to do.

Hey Guys,
The pickup(s) still need to be potted and magnetized. I will definitely post sound clips when the project is finished. The pickup pictured is for the bridge position. I plan on doing a neck pickup as well, but want to finish this one up first and see how it sounds.
