marcus miller 5 string pickups

hey yall, i recently purchased a marcus five and i love the feel and playability. i noticed that some have changed out the preamp with the aguilar obp-1 and some have changed the pickups(nordstand etc). my question is, how much difference does this make? im not against upgrades, i intend to upgrade!! i just want to know what some of you have experienced in your sound between stock and upgrades.

FWIW:

don't know about the 5's but the MM 4's were some of my favs.

Personally, I never know with pup swaps till I do it - even then it can take some time.
