Marcus Miller Jazz Bass tone control in passive mode?

Hi everybody in the forum.

Last monday I received my Marcus Miller 4-string bass. I've been reading the harmony central reviews, and also some nice guy in the forum told me about the famous "Tommy Thompson" mods to the bass. He told me about rewiring the bass to have tone control in passive mode, but I can't find the schematic to do this. Has anybody did this mod to his/her Miller? Do I need some extra components or is just a rewire job? Is there any schematic available for this? any info will be greatly appreciated, since I really like the passive tone in the Miller and think tone control is essential. Thanks!!!

I am ordering a Marcus Miller 5 in the near future and plan on installing a passive tone control (when I gain the courage). I don't know what it looks like under that (ugly?) pickgaurd... I was planning on just a regular Jazz bass tone control with just a pot and a capacitor.

My Marcus Miller has the J-retro (miller version) installed, so it has passive tone control as well. There are some schematics on that site as well (http://www.east-uk.com/), but looking at them, they might not be too helpful either...
