Can you have two different pickups in the same bass IE

EMG on the Neck pickup and Bartolini and the bridge

The Bart would need a buffer, otherwise the output stage on the EMG would load it down.

Once you made the Bart "active", they would play nice with each other.

Then the bass would explode.

Some years ago I had a Lane Poor M3.5W and EMG 35DC in the same bass for a brief period. The EMG was MUCH louder... and sounded like crap in comparison.
