MEC Dynamic Correction - whats wrong with 'em?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there!
I have MEC Dynamic Correction pickups in my custom passive GMR bass and I am not very pleased about the sound.

The output signal is quite low, and E strings tends to sound "overdriven" on some amps.

The sound is ... poor. I can't explain that, I can set eq to have more lows, or more highs, or more mids but it always sounds.. poor.

I hear "more sound" when playing my old Ibanez. Can set similar tone, but the sound is always richer on Ibanez.

Does anybody have MEC Dynamic Correction with passive circuit?

Should I throw'em away and put some more decent pups?
Should I buy an active preamp?

Or maybe its woods fault? It have ovangkol body, and ovangkol/maple neck made of 7 pieces.

You have an active or passive corvette? If active - Active SD or active preamp?
