MEC Gold J's?

Sign in to disble this ad
so does anyone know how these would fare in a fender jazz? I'm not sure what I want in a pickup, but warwick is one of those sounds, I don't want active but I've gotten mixed reviews of EMG's. what chaacteristics do EMG's have in a Jazz?

Thanks for the help

If you are going to plunk money down on replacement pickups, MEC's would be a waste IMO. The Warwick sound isn't because of MEC pickups, that's for sure - its more do to body wood and other materials. The Warwicks sound better witht the optional Duncan Basslines in them anyway.

The pickup recommendation for your jazz depends on what you are looking for tone-wise, what type of music you play, etc.

IMO, Bartolini's are nearly always a good pick.
