Mexican Fender Jazz pickup upgread

I wanted to get some input from you guys on upgrading the pickups in my mim Fender jazz. Its a 2007 in the midnight wine color. I have already upgraded the bridge to a Gotoh which I'm very happy with because the stock bridge was very cheap in my opinion. I also put a black pickguard on it because I didn't like the stock white one.
To give you some insight I also have a 2006 mia Fender jazz that I upgraded the stock pickups to a set of Seymour Duncan SJB-2. Why I did this is because I Like the sound of the original pickups but I wanted a hotter pickup but still wanted the vintage sound of a Jazz bass. I am very happy with my choice. It did what I wanted.
Now back to my question. I like the sound and output of the original mim pickups but I'm wondering if I install another set of Seymour Duncan SJB-2's in the mim jazz will it make a big enough improvement to be worth it? I would like to hear from people who are happy with the stock pickups and the people who have upgraded and are happy with there decision.

Forgive me for saying this but it sounds like "YOU" would have the best perspective on your own question. After all, you own 2 Jazz basses with both pickups in question.

Yes, you are right but I'm on the fence about what I should do and can't decide.

Sell both basses and buy a piano.

I would say you get a different pickup set. Now its a matter of deciding what you want. The sjb2s are active right? Nordstrand pickups are great if you want a vintage tone. If you want an almost humbucker like tone get delanos. I have duncan antiquity 2s and duncan sjb3s and the antiquitys sound great. The sjb3s sound very modern. So its really just about what you want.

Why have a mexi and american jazz with the same pickups in both?

If anything try something new. Or just take the pups out of your MIA and drop them in the MIM and put something killer like a set of nj4s in the american jazz.

You have a bunch of options. you can even put the american standards in your mexican jazz.

-I still don't get why you would want an MIM and MIA with the same pickups. Or an MIM and an MIA at all.

The SJB-2's are passive single coils. They have a vintage tone just Hotter. What I'm getting at is do you think its worth upgrading?

I have an mia and mim because sometimes I don't like bringing my American bass to a gig that I know it might get damaged so I got a cheaper mim as a bang around bass.

I getcha i getcha. Well in that case if you love the sound of the pickups put them in the MIM. If i were you i would use this as an excuse to put even more expensive pups in the MIA =]

if it were me, i wouldnt. i mean, look at it this way. You already have another MIM jazz that you replaced the pickups with those sjb-2s. and you like the standard mim pickups as it is, so why not leave it? its always nice to have 2 different sets of pickups in 2 essentially the same basses. you know?

I put Dimarzio Ultra J's in my MIM -- I'm very happy with the sound.

personally I think MIM Jazz pups are ok but I think an upgrade will make a big difference , I would go for a different set of pups though so you have 2 different tones available
