Mexican Jazz needs upgrade

I just got a '98 Mexican Jazz that I want to upgrade, what is a good choice for a pup set? Also I want to rplace the tuners any g2 on direct replacements?

what tone are you after for? Vintage , modern? here is a good reading..."J" pickups discussion and comparisons.
