Mid Sweep knob vs. Mid Frequency selector, the same or not?

Are mid frequency switches/selectors and mid sweep knobs the same thing albeit in different formats?

Typically the same thing, though terminology like "sweep" can be interpreted to mean damn near anything by different manufacturers.
