| Might Mite Soapbar vs. Bartolini

This week I pick up a Cort Artisan B4FL--wenge neck, rosewood fingerboard, fretless, mahogany body, Mighty Mite soapbar pickups, vol, fade, and active treble & bass controls. It is in like new condition, but must be one of the earlier models because the later ones have Bartolinis and five knobs.
What I'm wondering is whether I'd notice $200 + labor worth of improvements by installing the only drop-in replacement pickups available--the Bartolini CF4CBC. It's not that the Mighty Mites suck, per se. They sound OK and really come alive if you slightly push the treble and bass controls above the neutral setting. Still, I've gotten spoiled by my ASAT bass's massive-sounding MFD humbuckers.
I'd particularly appreciate the perspective of someone who's played both types of pickups.
