My Jag came with stock strings. Sounded OK but they did not produce the sound I want.
I installed D'Darrio medium 105, 85, 70, 50. Too bright.
Today I installed Ernie Ball flatwounds, same guage strings. What a difference! I love the intonation, growl, bass and clarity.
The Jag can produce many sounds as a result of the electronics, i.e. passive and active controls. The Jag in passive mode is essentially a Jazz bass. I just love the Ernie Ball strings and how they have provided new sound options.
Just curious if anyone has experienced what I am enjoying.
