MIJ Jaguar Bass Pickup FAIL!

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought some SD STK-j2 Hot Stack pickups for my Jaguar bass, and was so excited to get them in that I decided to give it a go myself...needless to say, I going to pick up my bass at the local guitar tech today...I dropped it off yesterday (I will be paying a premium for speedy repair), Im probably looking at $200 in repair + $150 for pickups....could have just bought another bass haha. Niether the tech nor myself could find any wiring diagrams on the jag bass. I have soldered plenty of pickups on "regular" guitars but this thing!!! I dont recommend anyone try this unless they really know what they are doing haha. Let me pay the price for you!!

I think I paid £35 at my local tech for a pickup and bridge replacement, he had it done perfectly for the next day. Maybe you should find a new tech?

Even at a half hour or so, I charge about $30 to wire up new pickups.

Yeah, here's the truth:

A doctor can charge $134567876543567 for 15 minutes, but whatever medicare or medicaid decides to pay, that's what he/she gets. It ain't much. Hint: many docs LOSE money on every flu shot given.

Jagbass with pickup mods. YAY!

Here's a vid of my JagBass with SCN pickups and a fuzz circuit in place of all the active crap.
