Thanks for the info! I think I'm not going to swap the pups, I just noticed that the buzz only appears if I plug my amp to a certain outlet, otherwise it's fine. Some kind of grounding problem, maybe.
The bass itself is great. The sound is perfect (better than American Series Jazz, Miller sig, Geddy and Japanese standard I've owned previously). The neck and fretwork is not as good as in my MIA Precision, but I paid much more $$$ for it.
