Modern Player Jazz pickups for 5 string?

Title is the question. Does Fender make Modern Player pickups that would fit a 5-string string spacing in the bridge and neck positions?

I have not been able to find anything like that. But I can't imagine someone else's pick ups wouldn't be as good or better anyway?

Take a look at this Roscoe Beck 4 string.

Think these pups would work for you

You can try the Delano DJC 5 HE It's a 5-string double jazz pickup.

I assume you will be routing and if that's the case, use the dimension chart attached to the pickup page.

All the best,

Bob

Modern Player pups are kinda "bottom-bucket" sounding, IME.

on the other hand, i love the sound of the pups in my MIM Jazz V!

pacojas, that's great but not helpful. I know what Jazz pickups are out there.

Specific to Fender, here's a link to the parts breakdown for a Roscoe Beck V which has the part number for RBV pickups: http://support.fender.com/service_di...6500A_SISD.pdf

0049724000 Pickup, Neck, Lawrence
0049725000 Pickup, Bridge, Lawrence

Not sure how easy these will be able to come up with, but I think that's currently it for Fender offerings.

All the best,

Bob

The Roscoe Beck pickups are a pretty unique design. Unfortunately they are only available as warranty replacements so you can't buy them. There's some good info on those pickups in this thread: Help on the Roscoe Beck V pickups

SGD makes two "twin jazz" replacements: http://sgd-lutherie.com/pages/ND3-DLX.html and http://sgd-lutherie.com/pages/SW4-DLX.html

Delano also makes one: http://www.delano.de/products.html?&..._smtdelano_pi1[series]=5&tx_smtdelano_pi1[strings]=5&tx_smtdelano_pi1[system]=37

MEC makes an active version (as used in Warwicks): http://www.mec-pickups.de/modules/pr...ID=15038&cl=EN

That would have exposed alnico poles.

If I was going to wire a 4-conductor humbucker like the Roscoe Beck series/single/parallel for each pickup, does anyone have a good wiring diagram for that?

EDIT: I see that there is a basic diagram in the Fender support PDF. However it puzzles me that the pickups are hum-canceling in single coil mode (like a Jazz Bass) when the neck-side coil is selected for both pickups. Does that mean the bridge and neck humbuckers also have the opposite polarity and phase to each other?
