Noise when touching poles on bottom pickup

Hello,

Just fitted some new pups to a P Bass. Sound great as I also shielded it at the same time. However, if I touch any of the poles on the bottom pickup I get noise, if I touch a pole on the top pickup it is silent?

All strings sound great so guess it is nothing to worry about but just curious why this would be?
