| Noisy Bongo 6 HH pickups/preamp...what to do?

I have a few basses, and through this rig every one is almost perfectly silent except for the Bongo. When this beast is plugged in if I crank up the amp loud enough I'm able to listen to one of the local radio stations as long as I keep my hand away from the pickups, if I move my hand over the pickups the noise goes away. I've used the blend knob rolled all the way to both pickups to see if it was a specific pickup, but the noise continues so I'm wondering if it is in the preamp instead?
Unless this is expected of course.. I'm in the 3rd floor of an apartment, however my Stingray and Ray35 both don't exhibit this behavior.
Any suggestions? I've sent an email to EBMM customer service to see what they can do for me in the meantime.
