| Noisy at full volume (SR506)

I have an Ibanez SR506 that gives me some nasty hum when the volume pot is full open but more or less goes away when I crank it back a quarter turn or so.
I recently replaced the volume pot with a 500k but that didn't really change much. The bass is factory shielded with shielding paint in the cavity and some foil on the cover.
I know it's not the amp, chord, or environment cause I don't have the issue with other basses.
I'm not really sure where to start looking for the problem and the music stores in town are not particularly repair savvy.. Any ideas?
