Sign in to disble this ad
This might seem like a really odd question, but what P-bass pickup sounds the least like a p-bass? I know the overall basic character of a precision bass-style pickup doesn't vary too much, but what is the least traditional sounding example available? I want something with tight lows and refined midrange. Any opinions or suggestions?
Thanks!

If you don't want the sound of a P bass, you should either try a different bass or a different style of pickup all together. |

| | | | i can only think of one thing, the dimarzio split P. it sounds more like a dual-coil soapbar, especially when wired in parallel.

IME, another not very "P sounding" P pickup is a Duncan's Quarter Pounder.

I have a Franken-Squier P-bass that I'm slowly transforming into something different. I'm just not 100% sure what that is.
