NOOB wiring question

Sign in to disble this ad
I am putting a DiMarzio Model P into my P-bass and changing out all the electronics and adding a switch (dont want push-pull pot) for parallel/series. I ordered a DPDT switch but instead of a 2 position (on-on) switch I got a 3 position (on-on-on) DPDT switch. Can I use this to do parallel-single coil-series like a guitar or will this not work because of the configuration of a split coil p-bass pup?

Thanks in advance and Happy Father's Day to all.

The single coil mode will result in you only getting output from two strings.
