Has anyone had a chance to try either the 2 band or 3 band Nordstrand onboard Preamps? Thoughts? Enthusiasm? Comparissons?

Thanks!!

I have somewhat different tastes, but I've installed a few (2band and 3band) nordy pre's for customers, they do sound good to my ears and are good quality pre's as far as I see. I don't believe you can go wrong with one.

I'm a big fan of the Nordstrand preamp/EQ circuits. The preamp itself is very neutral, which is a good thing to me. It sounds like your bass only louder. Some preamps have a voicing that hypes the sound even without EQ. The Nordstrand doesn't do this. But the EQ frequencies are well chosen and the ability to switch between two mid frequencies via push/pull pot is very cool (so, for example you can cut 400Hz for slap or boost 800Hz for picking). I also like the passive tone control a lot (I ended up installing a .1uf cap because I like the roll-off more than the stock .047uf cap). Overall it's a very good, natural sounding preamp.
