Nordstrand Big Splits/Aguilar OBP-3

Suprisingly little amount of reviews and opinions on these Nordstrand Big Splits.

So whose got 'em (or tried them out) and how do they sound?!?!

Anybody have/try them with an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp? I was thinking of this setup...

My favorite combo. Fat and strong. Crispy when need it. The only concerne is the bass ctrl on the Aguilar, just a tiny increment and boom!
I'd like a more even taper.

Thanks for replying. Do you know if the frequency placement of the bass control is adjustable?

No. Aguilar preamps are fixed at 40hz. For a tighter boost in the lows, you might consider a Sadowsky preamp, however they are only bass/treble.

Another food for though, somewhere I have read that you can make the Aguilar OBP-3 a sweep mid control. And i've only heard from other people and not first hand that the low control is boomy and the sadowsky is tighter..
