Question Nordstrand BigSingles / SplitSingles / FatStacks

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey forum.

Nordstrand Soapbars cought my eyes several months ago. They look so nice.

I'm curious if they sound as nice as they look and therefore ask you guys for some soundexamples. I know the sound will be much determined by strings, preamp, technique, wood etc. but anyway i want to get a hint of the underlying tone.

I'd appreciate some soundclips and your shared experiences very much. Thanks!

I don't know if this will help. He're a link to my last band. I'm using my Sadowsky nyc with norstrand big singles. The studio stuff is thru an Ampeg amp (which I'm not crazy about). The live video(poor quality) is thru my Eden. I love the sound of this bass, its probably a combo between the electronics and pickups.

Hi there.
I've just upgraded from a pair of MK1 Barts to Big Splits a few days ago, so here's some samples I've recorded through my soundcard mic input. I know it doesn't do justice, but I don't have a good mike to capture the amp speaker. The bass is a Lakland 44-01 in passive mode, with a week old set of DR Sunbeams. As you can see, I'm not the greatest bass player

Hope its helps,
Adrian

Nice, thanks for your contributions.

@slogo: I really like the way your sound sits in the mix.

@algernon: That's interesting, your 44-01 sounds very similar to my JO with Lakland pups.
