Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there,

I'd like to install some Nordy's DC6(parallel) with the Mike Pope Flexcore preamp and i have some questions...

knows someone how to connect the cables for a coil tap? The flexcore has a connector with pu hot, pu tap, pu ground.

Has someone allready this configuration? How it sounds?

Thanks for help

On series wired pickups the tap would be the series connection.

To switch a parallel wired pickup into single coil mode you have to lift one of the wires and connect it to either hot or ground.

Maybe Mike will pop in and answer this, but I think you will need to wire up a separate switch to do this.

It's a very cool looking preamp.

I guess, by the Flex's diagram, DC parallel/single coil (outside coils):
bridge black hot, red tap, white and green negative
neck red hot, black tap, white and green negative

Per the FLex brochure: you'll need the optional external switch.

Mike can definitely answer your question...

For Parallel:
Wire the coil you want ON all the time to "HOT"
Wire the coil you want to turn on and off to "TAP"
Wire the grounds of both to "GROUND"

For Series:

Wire the coil you want ON all the time to "HOT"
Wire the GROUND of the coil that you want ON all the time AND the HOT of the coil you want to turn on and off to "TAP"
Wire the ground of the coil you want to turn on and off to "GROUND"
You'll also have to attach a ground wire to the empty solder pad on the coil tap switch board.

I went to Michael's web site but the price list won't load. I also emailed him last night but no response as of yet. Does anyone know where I can get a price list from and where I can place and order? Thanks!
