Nordstrand Dual Coil Series Installation Issues

So I tried getting some help on this, but I can't quite figure it out. I can't find a wiring diagram on this, and I asked the shop to no avail.

I have a Stambaugh bass with some new Nordstrand Dual Coils I just installed. They replaced a set of big singles. The pickups are for series wiring. Now the bass is configured Vol/Vol/Tone like a traditional J-Bass.

How do I make the wiring in series? I copied the wiring same as the big singles (black to hot, green to ground). Maybe it's already wired in series, but I'm not quite sure.

Here's the other problem. The neck pickup is super fat, but as soon as I put in the bridge pickup, it's all thin, with low output, and with a lot of hum.

The bridge pickup cover (wooden shielded cover), had this stray wire. Wasn't sure it's quite for, is attached to the bridge pickup pot for now.

Any ideas on how to alleviate this?
