Nordstrand Fatstacks advice needed!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,

I love how Ash/ Maple Jazzes look but I want a fatter, fuller sound than what the typical Marcus Miller or '75RI gives me.

Would Nordstrand FatStacks be the ticket for a thick, fat, fingerstyle jazz sound out of an ash/maple Jazz?

Or would it still be bright?

Thanks!

Yes, I would think so in the stacked mode. In single-coil mode it's bigger than a trad single-coil - bigger in every direction, more highs more lows. In stacked mode - to my ears - the highs are a bit subdued. There is also a slight volume drop in stacked mode, thus Nordstrand recommends an active circuit.
