Nordstrand MM4.2 wiring help

Sign in to disble this ad
I just received a Nordstrand MM4.2 pickup I purchased to put into my passive musicman SUB 4. Anyone know how I wire it? The wiring instructions and the wires themselves are clearly meant for easy installation to a preamp. Many thanks for any help you can give me!

Here is a picture of the stock pickup wiring:

And here is the Nordstrand MM4.2 pickup:

Wiring instructions are:

Parallel Humbucker (standard):
Red + black + [sic] hot
White + green + shield = ground

Series humbucker:
Black = hot
Red + White = solder and tape off
Green (plus shield) = ground

Single Coil:
Connect red and white to ground for rear coil.
Connect red and white to hot for front coil.

I hope that clarifies the situation, or maybe this is just a dumb question. I want parallel; do I solder red, and black to where the blue wire is currently and white, green and shield to where the black wire is currently? Anyone know what I should do here?

EDIT:
I tested the different configurations and went with the pickup in parallel, wiring was correct as I assumed. So far I really like it, an improvement over the stock pickup. I used to hear a harsh harmonic tone just when plucking the open E, that has disappeared!
