I'm interested in buying a set of NJ4's and was wondering what the tonal differences between the standard winding and the 70's winding?

The 70's wind is a bit more open (not boosted) in the upper registers and not as focused as the lower mids as the 60's sound.

This in turn can allow a bit more of the snap or sparkle to come through.

The 70's is just as balanced as the 60's.

With that 60's there is that very specific classic lower mid tone that is most certainly present. Its just not as noticeable in the 70's (we are talking about not a ton different but different none the less) its not a night and day type of thing

A little more hi-mids can be noticed on 70's winding.
