Nordstrand NJ4 vs. Dimarzio Model J

Sign in to disble this ad
I was sold on the Model J's until I heard some clips of the NJ4SE pups, I don't need a split coil design nessicarily but am looking for a growly pup with a nice low response, pleasant highs and very even response throughout the entire range.

FWIW These will go into a Fender Standard Jazz and I have an outboard Sadowsky pre I am running it through so the bass itself will remain passive.

I heard a clip comparing Nordstrand and DiMarzio. The Nordstrand had everything DiMarzio had plus it was more precise and clear. It also had stronger highs. The DiMarzio had deeper bass and was just a little darker sounding.

My bad , they were Lindy Fralin and DiMarzio Ultra jazz. Here is the clip anyway:[ http://www.vial-family.ch/bass/session1.html ]. Basstasters has soundclips for Nordstrand! I have a soundclip of a nj4 on my computer but i don't know how to download it to you! It's too big!

That page shows a comparison between:
Fender Js
DiMarzio Ultra Js
DiMarzio Model Js

Nothing with Lindy Fralin.

Got it,thanks!!!!

Out of all the pups I have heard on that site I actually like the Sadowskys the best so for only $40 more they might be the ticket since I have an outboard Sad pre and love the Sadowsky tone!!!!
