Nordstrand NJ5FS and URetro 5

Stupid question...
The wires from the Nords are black/white, the URetro indicates
Hot/Cold... I assume that means +/- ??
If so, which is +/- black/white or white/black?

White is + and black is -. Hot = white and cold = black.
