Question Nordstrand Series DCs sound clips?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm really interested in these pickups, but have been unable to find any really nice sound clips. When I did a search all I found was Basso Gruvitas' Roscoe. He did the recordings in single coil mode, so it didn't really give me a good idea of the tone. Anyone know any other threads or sites that have sound clips of the Nordie DCs wired in Series?

The Groove Shoppe GS5 bass has Nordstrand DC's in it, with a glock preamp.

Many soundclips and videos here:

Very good tone and playing. Thank you wolfbass!
Can you reveal what is the signal chain for those recordings?

Thanks alot! I'll be happy to expain the siganl path if I can remember it all!!

It was the Roscoe- (with various settings on the Audere, I can't remember which) > morley volume pedal > Line 6 DL4 > Glockenklang BAC preamp > Crest CA9 > Accugroove tri112L. In the FX loop of the glockenklang was a alesis midiverb4 and a gibson echoplex digital looper. I mic'd the tri112 at 1 foot in between the drivers with a studio projects C1 condenser mic > Tascam FW-1082 interface > Macbook pro w/ cubase LE.

There was no EQ or sound processing at all. I was going to affect it afterwards, but I liked the way it sounded, and I dug that it sounded the way it did without being doctored at all.
