| | | | Nordstrand Sound Clips?

Anyone know of any soundclips of nordies? I've listened on youtube to some Callowhill bass demo's with nordie pickups, and was wondering where I can find some more. Also, I know that if a parallel wound pick is in series, it gets hot and dark sounding, does a series wound pickup in parallel get weak or thin sounding? |

A drummer, a guitarist and myself did a very quick recording session, for a website demo. For receptions and stuff like that.
Everything in one room, simple setup. Songs where learned on the spot so please excuse my playing.
Everything was played on my Nordie VJ5 with fatstacks, nordie onboard preamp set flat, and a Demeter vtbp201s tube preamp ith slightly boosted bass and a bit of treble cut.
Tracks are here www.travels-trio.dk under music.

The pickups are not wound in series or parallel, it is just how the coils are connected to each other that make them series or parallel. In a series humbucker either the two ends of the coils are connected together with the beginnings of the coils being one hot, the other ground, org two beginnings of the two coils are connected with the ends being one hot, one ground. In a two coil pickup where the coils are connected in parallel the two coils are kind of connected independently, where the beginning of one coil is hot, the end of that coil is ground, and the other coil is connected in reverse. |

| | | | Bill, thanks for the clips, they sound great! I'm probably going to install a series/parallel switch on the bass, just trying to figure out if I want the pickups to be wound to sound optimal in which setting. Such a tough choice! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
