Nordstrand vs Fralin P Pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
I've almost narrowed my choice to one of these fine pickups... almost. It's not too late to suggest anything else, but anyways...

Has anyone tried both in similar basses and had a comparison to make?

I'm thinking a bit more clarity and growl than stock. I'm not looking for the Motown sound, I play with the tone up most of the time and a pick within my grasp.

Any help?

Cant comment on the nords, but I have a fralin which does the grinding pick w/rounds and the thumpy motown with flats. I think most good Ps will do this.

Check the search, as I swear one of the stores (blueberry hill) did a comparison in a blog.

I did do a blog entry on the general differences between the two pickups lines, but I have also discussed these two models in exceptional detail in this forum over the course of the last year or two. A lot of other TBers have also posted a good number of detailed comments and reviews, so there is a LOT of great information out there that the search function will pull up.
