Nordstrom Big Single??

Anybody have any experience with these? The Nordstrand site describes them as bassically a very big single coil. I'm looking for a bridge pu for a Frankenbass. I was thinking along the MM line, but these look interesting.

Please post your take on the result, if you could. Is that your DS'd P-type on the Dark Star board? If so, it's a beauty. Looking forward to clips when available. Thanks

yes it is, and thanks.

Fred really makes a great product - as does Carey Nordstrand and team - it's hard to go wrong either way

all the best,

R

I'm installing that exact combo in a Jazz bass wired passive and each pup having a stack V/T knob. I'll post feedback and clips when complete...

Thanks. Sounds like the Fat Stacks might give things another dimension if I added a coil tap switch to use them like Big Singles. The feedback is generally what I hoped to hear - but you never know what you got 'til you got it...

The Big Singles are great, I love 'em, but I always recommend going with the Fat Stacks (or just one in your case...unless you're just dead set against it), because it gives you more tonal options. By installing a coil tap on the Fat Stack pickup, you effectively convert it into a Big Single, PLUS you still have the tone of the Fat Stack as well...two very different pickup tones with the flick of a switch or the pull of a pot.
