Nordy NJ4SV in a Corvette Ash Passive

Sign in to disble this ad
I got myself a nice little Corvette Ash passive, and not being a fan of the MECs, I was wondering if anyone tried to put some Nordys single / split coils in them? I'm going for the NJ4SV (hum cancelling jazz pups). Or if someone has the experience of the true single coils, I'm all ears.

I would think it would not be much trouble to fit them in, even in the pickup cover itself. I want to keep the whole thing passive as well.

Don't even know the pup/control arrnagement on a corvette but the make/model bass itself won't make any screaming difference.

Reviews on the pups in whatever bass should tell you what you need know in terms of tone. Nords in general were in vogue a lot longer than most and have only recently diminished noticeably. Still don't see a lot of them for sell used and most guys seemed pretty satisfied with them. Only Nord I had was an MM 4.2 and is was nothing exceptional to my ear - but that pup and NJ4's probably make up 90% of the Nords I've seen resold. The NJ4's primarily in favor of the HC versions.
